The Thai Pongal festival was celebrated at the beginning of the year with enthusiasm and cultural significance. The festivities began with beautifully drawn ‘kolam’ designs at the entrance, welcoming guests to the event. A traditional ‘mottuwa’ was displayed to enhance the festive ambience. Attendees participated in a presentation that highlighted the importance of Thai Pongal, emphasising themes of gratitude and unity.
One of the event’s highlights was a lively sugarcane eating competition, which added a fun and engaging element to the celebration.
