The partnership between Prospects College of Higher Education (PCHE) and Deakin university, Australia, allows students to gain a world class education in early childhood education, culminating in a Bachelors degree and enabling students to gain dual teacher registration, for Primary and Early Childhood education, in Australia.

 

How it works

 

Students enroll for the Diploma in Early Childhood Education at PCHE, Sri Lanka.

On completion students would receive 1 year of credit exemptions (7 credits) towards the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education program at Deakin university, Australia. Students can complete the degree by studying a further 2-3 years depending on the degree program chosen.

 

Year 1 – Diploma in Early childhood education @ PCHE Sri Lanka

Years 2 & 3 – Bachelor of Early Childhood Education @ Deakin university Australia (2 years)

Or

Years 2,3 & 4 – Bachelor of Education (Early Years and Primary Education) @ Deakin University (3 years)

 

Deakin’s Bachelor of Early Childhood Education allows you to teach young children in early childhood and primary school settings. With professional experience opportunities and the chance to choose from a range of curriculum areas, you will graduate prepared to enter the workforce with experience and confidence.

 

Accreditation

 

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority (ACECQA) as an early childhood teaching qualification in Australia. This degree is also accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) as an initial teacher education program against the Australian professional standards for teachers.

 

This program is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) as an early childhood teaching qualification in Australia. Graduates of this course who are intending to apply for registration in Victoria or interstate may be required to provide further information. Applicants are advised to check the registration requirements in their state or territory, carefully

 

Opportunities After Graduation

 

Students will be eligible to apply for dual teacher registration in Australia. (Primary and Early Childhood).

This is a career which is both rewarding and in high demand in most parts of Australia including leading cities and states. On average an early childhood educator could earn between AUD 50,000 to 60,000 per year.
